Its been a long time since we’ve printed our Connection, real paper and ink - in hand. With November/December being the first issue back in print since the beginning pandemic, we’ve been reflecting on all the format changes that became necessary over the past several months. Here are a few takeaways from our digital only time...

Today guests are smarter, with more access to information, than ever. If your color is just ok, the guests probably know it too. They see their friend’s hair, or hear from their friends that their salon upgraded their color to new technology and that their hair looks and feels better than ever before.

At East Coast Salon Services something that we are incredibly proud of is the, pandemic-inspired, Customer Direct program! While it was initially created as a response to help our salons maintain some retail revenue during the shutdown, the convenience to our customers, and THEIR customers, makes this program a unique opportunity and something we are proud to carry on indefinitely!

What I find best is to be flexible and to use as many of my 86,400 seconds in a day to make things better. We can commit to putting one foot in front of the other, not to go back to what we knew was safe before Covid-19.

ECSS has always been an important part of my life. So, when I had the opportunity to talk with another old friend, Kim DuPree, the ECSS director of Education, I took it. I was smiling the whole time we were brainstorming and smiling when I got off the phone thinking about our opportunities for the future.

Beginning today (Thursday 4/9/2020), we are pleased to announce that all web orders will move to a direct credit card processing format. This means we will no longer be charging a credit card or account terms after checkout - we will require the person placing an order to enter a valid credit card and complete payment at the time of checkout.
