Position Title: Accounting Manager

Reports To: Controller

Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading our accounting team while maintaining all balance sheet account reconciliations, overseeing month end close, financial reporting all while ensuring accounting standards and providing strategic financial guidance.

Essential job functions and responsibilities:

  • Balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Review and prepare journal entries for month end close
  • Assist with inventory control; observe cycle counts in the warehouse and stores; participate in managing physical inventory count processes.
  • Prepare Monthly & Quarterly Sales Tax reports
  • Analyze cost versus budget variances and provide financial guidance to departments
  • Review AR & AP on regular basis and assist team with maintaining accuracy
  • Leading and mentoring accounting team in a high-performance environment

  • Ability to flex schedule to support business demands (may include occasional OT and/or weekend work)
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing. Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Must be willing to accept new duties as business needs and the role evolve.

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar is preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience in the accounting field
  • Previous ERP experience required; Sage 100 experience is preferred.
  • Must have experience working in a high sales volume, expenses and with inventory transactions
  • Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform desk/computer work from either a sitting or standing position.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift up to 25 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
  • Must be able to walk and stand up to 25% of the workday to perform duties.
